The IKEA AW/19 “Jewel shades” trend at home.

So here I am minding my own business when the always fab folk at IKEA get in touch and ask if i’d like to take part in a campaign highlighting some of their fab trends for A/W19.

The campaign was divided into 3 trends

Urban minimalist, - “The Urban Minimalis trend, less is more with this look aiming to create spaces that are understated yet still distinctive”

Connected Home - Living spaces with smart homewares that are stylish functional and innovative.

Jewels shades - Comprising of deep yet vibrant tones that add a touch of opulence to any space.

So as a self appointed lover of colour and pattern it really wasn’t surprising which trend was best suited to me. It was definitely “Jewel shades” all day long for me! The aim of the campaign was to take a trend and then to show how easily this trend could be incorporated into mine or your own home. So with all that being said let’s dive in and i’ll show you the product I selected to work with.

So first up I knew id be needing some cool lighting, as i’m sure you,re all aware IKEA has the most amazing range of lighting options..I chose this one as it works as a table lamp (using the clamp provided) or it can be wall mounted.

As I mentioned the Jewel shades trend is about incorporating lovely rich vibrant tones and these “Sagalie” cushion covers which by having different colours either side, actually give you 2 cushion covers for the price of one! Nifty eh?

We’ve just recently redecorated our lounge in a fab mid grey/green so selecting this gorgeous “Vonsbäk rug to work with our newly daubed walls really was a no-brainer. It has a slight distressed vibe to the pattern which I think adds that modern edge to what would be without it, a traditional pattern rug.

I chose these super versatile “Kragsta” side tables which come as a set of two, perfect for adding lamps, books, objet or flowers etc. I’ve also seen these grouped together with the larger table in the range to create a great coffee table situ with different heights which looks pretty cool.

Then last but not least I decided to add this cosy “Almalie” blanket/throw which again is reversible with its strong graphic grid pattern which can be black and white or white and black depending on your mood.

So with all these items selected it was time for the fun part of putting them all together!

Lamplight…super cosy eh?

So I think it all came out pretty neat, the Jewel Shades trend has most certainly given our lounge that seasonal refresh, perfect for cosying up during the winter months ahead and I hope i’ve inspired some of you reading this to go out and indulge in this vibe for your own homes. I promise you won’t regret it.

Till next time.
